About Me
Kristen McClintock LMHC CMHS
I am a play advocate! I love helping children and parents become reacquainted with the joy and power of playing together.
I focus on treating children with respect, dignity, and autonomy while promoting their deep need for interdependence and connection.
My work encourages parents and children to have more playful interactions with each other. This creates meaningful connection and ultimately promotes the child’s emotional and behavioral development.
When we see children for who they truly are (not just their behaviors) we cannot help but be struck with deep compassion. This compassion changes how we treat them. When we listen to children (both to their spoken words and their behavior) we have the opportunity to see how resourceful, capable, and creative they are.
I am passionate about working with misunderstood kids (whether they are neurodivergent, LGBT, deeply feeling, highly sensitive, or gifted.) I love helping parents better understand their child’s behavior and development so they can regain trust in their own intuition as parents.
